Updated: Dec 7, 2022

An introduction to our LRC Catalogue including:

What is the 'LRC Catalogue'?

The LRC Catalogue is your way to discover all the library resources available to you. It allows you to locate books, e-books and a whole lot more with a single search. You can also use the LRC Catalogue to manage your LRC account.

How do I search the LRC Catalogue?

To search the LRC Catalogue, first, click on the button above to the catalogue.

Once you have entered the LRC Catalogue type in your student ID number in the reader code.

Then press the login button underneath.

This will log you into your LRC Account.

The first search bar (highlighted in green) is where you can search all our resources. Type in a title, author or keyword, you can then refine your search by media type or location.

The second search bar (highlighted in blue) is where you can refine your search to just search our catalogue for online resources and eBooks.

Refine your search:

Follow the guide below to find out how to refine your search to show books that are available in the college you are studying at.

1) Type in a topic or subject area you'd like to find resources for under 'search terms' and click on the plus sign (circled below) to add a new search field.

In the second search box click on 'All Fields' and when the drop-down menu opens, select the field you would like to add. If you wanted to search your college site, then choose 'Location' and in the search box enter the site you are studying at. For example: Kingston, Carshalton, Wandsworth, Merton. When you search that term, it will then only show books available in that location.

Checking Availability

Once you have found a book, check the book is available at the site you are studying at.

Scroll down to status and make sure the book says 'Available'.

You can take up to 6 books at a time and can have them on loan for three weeks. You can then renew your books on the LRC Catalogue.
