Create Your College Password

  • Your login details are used for all college systems such as Teams and email.

  • Create your password using the instructions on this page.

  • After you have created your password, you will get a message that says 'Let's keep your account secure' - at that point make sure that you use our 'Microsoft Authenticator guide' to set up your account security, which is in the 'Next step after creating your password' section below.

 

Your college username and your first-time password

 

Your college username will be your college email address, which will look like this:

Your student ID number@student.stcg.ac.uk

Example: if your student ID number was 123456 the username would be 123456@student.stcg.ac.uk​


​​You can find your student ID number on your college ID card or on any college enrolment emails / letters.​

Your first-time password uses the following format: PassDDMMYYYY

DDMMYYYY will be your date of birth, so for example, if you were born on 12th April 2008 your password would be Pass12042008 You must use a capital P and then lower case for the other letters.

When you sign in for the first time you will be asked to 'Update your password' and this is when you choose your new password.

Choosing your new password

Your current password is your first-time password.
To enter a new password, follow these rules.

Password Rules

Your new password MUST:

• Be at least 12 characters long.

• Have a mix of CAPITAL letters and small letters

• Include a number or a special character, such as #

​Your new password MUST NOT include:

• Your first name or surname

• Your date of birth or student number

• Be too common (you will be asked to try again if it is too easy to guess)

Now sign in to our Welcome Portal to create your password.

​1. Type your college username in the 'Sign in' box and then click 'Next'.

2. In 'current password' enter your first-time password.

3. Enter a new password and type it again in 'confirm password'.

The next step after creating your password

After you have created your password, you will get a message that says 'Let's keep your account secure'.

The next step is to use our Microsoft Authenticator guide to set up Authenticator​.
