How to Create Your College Password

Your student login details are used for all college systems including the Welcome Portal, student email, Teams, and My College Zone.

Please note that you have to be enrolled before you create your password. Once you are enrolled you may need to wait up to 24 hours.

If you have enrolled early you will need to wait until 4 weeks before your course start date. This will not be an issue for most students.

Your username and your first-time password

Go to the Welcome Portal website: https://my.stcg.ac.uk and sign in with the details below to set up your account.

Your user name will be your college email address, which will look like this:

Your student ID number@student.stcg.ac.uk

Example: if your student ID number was 123456 the username would be 123456@student.stcg.ac.uk

You can find your student ID number on your college ID card or on any college enrolment emails / letters.

Your first-time password uses the following format: PassDDMMYYYY

DDMMYYYY will be your date of birth, so for example, if you were born on 12th April 2008 your password would be Pass12042008 You must use a capital P and then lower case for the other letters.

Choose your new password

Your current password is your first-time password (see above).

Create a new password, following the rules below...

Password Rules

Your new password must contain all of the following:

• Must be at least 12 characters long.

• Must be a mix of CAPITAL letters and small letters

• Must include a number or a symbol such as ! or ?

Your password MUST NOT include:

• Your first name or surname

• Your date of birth or college student number

• Be too common or easy to guess (you will be asked to try again if it is)

Confirm your password by typing it again.

Click Sign in when you are ready.

Keep Your Account Secure

You will use your username and this newly created password to access all of your College systems.

You are nearly ready to start exploring. First you need to take another step to make sure that only you can access your College computer account.

You will need to set up an extra layer of authentication either via the Microsoft authenticator app or via a phone call.
